This blog uses WordPress 2.0

  • The hierarchical category list is made possible by the fold_category_list.php plug-in.

  • The comment user-verification system is Thom Skrtich’s version of SecureImage.

  • I am using ScriptyGoddess’s wpPaginate for page navigation.

Previously, I was using WordPress 1.5.2.

Here are my changes from the standard configuration:

  • The hierarchical category list is made possible by the fold_category_list.php plug-in.

  • Old blog entries and comments from Blogger were imported using Andy Skelton’s modified blogger importing tool; you can see an illustrated tutorial here.

  • I am using Urban Giraffe’s theme and its associated plugin.

  • I am using Urban Giraffe’s InScript plugin.

  • I am using Urban Giraffe’s AJAX Calendar plugin.

  • I am using ScriptyGoddess’s wpPaginate for page navigation.

  • I am using the PerPage plugin to control how many posts are displayed for various page types.

  • I figured I’d start getting comment spam before too long, and, sure enough, I have. While WordPress has some settings that allow for auto-quarantining of comments that are likely to be spam (based, for instance, on the number of links they contain), I found that the messages informing me of comments awaiting moderation were flooding my mailbox. I thus started using Thom Skrtich’s version of SecureImage. To provide for better accessibility, I may, in the future, switch to one of the options listed here.
